August 14 - 21, 2009

Summer Meditation Retreat
sponsored by Queer Dharma/Chicago

The format includes daily meditation and yoga practice, dharma talks and group discussion. This program is good for both the complete novice and very experienced meditators. Meditation Instructors Alice Dan, Larry Wolf and Jim Duetsch will offer basic and advanced meditation instruction and conduct individual interviews with practitioners throughout the week.
Each day after lunch there will be free time for silence, socializing or exploring nature. Opportunities will be available for hiking, walking and swimming in this lovely region of Wisconsin adjacent to the Kettle Moraine State Forest. During the week Argenis Vegas will facilitate peer-bodywork for those who are interested.

Meals will be vegetarian, and practitioners will be invited to contribute by helping with food preparation or clean-up for one or more meals per day. One week of meditation will count toward Dathun requirements for those interested in participating in advanced Shambhala programs.
The cost includes all talks and instruction, all meals and basic accommodations in the bunkhouse, your own tent, or a triple room. It is possible to upgrade accommodations on a first come-first served basis. Preference is given to those attending the entire retreat.
